Six Orange County Residents Face DWI Charges In Weekend Stops

With law enforcement agencies in the Hudson Valley continuing their crackdown on drunk, drugged and distracted driving, several local residents were among 25 motorists who found themselves charged with DWI offenses in the area over the weekend.

Local residents charged were:

Orange County

On Friday, Sept. 7, State Police from Montgomery arrested David Neff, age 63, of New Windsor, for DWI. He was traveling in Newburgh when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. An investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On Friday, Sept. 7, State Police from Haverstraw arrested Raj Ryan, age 43, of Middletown, for DWI. He was traveling on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Haverstraw when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. An investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On Friday, Sept. 7, State Police from Monroe arrested Steven Bennett, age 31, of Chester, for DWI. He was traveling in Monroe when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. An investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

On Saturday, Sept. 8, State Police from Monroe arrested John Sam, age 52, of Harriman, for DWI. He was traveling on Route 17 in Harriman when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. An investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

On Saturday, Sept. 8, State Police from Monroe arrested Jaime Choc Pop, age 21, of Monroe, for DWI. He was traveling on Route 208 in Monroe when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

On Saturday, Sept. 8, State Police from Monroe arrested Debra Kalambokas, age 19, of Greenwood Lake, for DWI. She was traveling on Route 17 in Blooming Grove when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

Westchester County

On Saturday, Sept. 8, State Police from Hamptonburg arrested Gladys Ortiz Santacruz, age 28, of Peekskill, for DWI. She was traveling on Route 980T in Newburgh when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
